Arts ALIVE! An Art & Rural Garden Adventure

Arts Alive! An Art & Rural Garden Adventure
Saturday May 18, 2024 from 10AM-4PM
5 Private Garden Locations featuring 20 local artists

After Party from 6-8pm at Bridgeview Winery Tasting Room

The Southern Oregon Guild of Artists and Artisans presents the inaugural Arts Alive! An Art & Rural Garden Adventure on Saturday, May 18, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Ticket holders will enjoy a variety of art and fine crafts displayed in the unique settings of five picturesque home gardens in the Illinois Valley. Set amidst the background of surrounding forested and snow-topped mountains, the five selected gardens will showcase sculpture, paintings, ceramics, fabric arts, glass arts, woodwork, books, and photography. The gardens display a range of botanical beauty from brilliant spring blooms to kitchen gardens to native plants and trees among ponds to magical forest laced with sculpture. Each garden setting will have different activities throughout the day -- some for children, some for adults -- storytelling and reading, painting, music, meeting Baron the horse, or sipping a hand-crafted brandy at Marble Caves Distillery or an award-winning wine at Bridgeview Winery.

Participating groups and artists include Guild Members: Sheila Mason, Kendall Art Glass, Kat Allan, Jim Lettis, Stephen Kirkland, Brian Davis, Bonnie Campanoli, Linda Lee, Miri Admoni, Terry D. Davis, Janet Downingstar, Joshua Beach, Charles & Georgia Churchill, Annie Buma, Shapour Mizrai, Danji Isthmus, Dara Daniel, Art with Ariana, and the Illinois Valley Garden Club. All artists and some gardeners will have work available for purchase.

Throughout the day, the Guild Gallery & Art Center, located in the historic Kerby Belt Building in Kerby, will be open from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm as an informational hub for visitors, providing tour programs with maps and wristbands. If not already purchased, tickets will be available, and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. Bottled water and snacks will also be available for purchase. Arts Alive! will conclude with an after party from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bridgeview Winery’s Tasting Room, where ticket holders are invited to attend along with artists, gardeners, and event staff to share highlights from the day. A selection of meals will be available for purchase along with a discount of 20% off 1 glass of wine.

Adult event tickets are $20 each, $10 for teens, and youth ages 12 and under are free. Tickets provide full tour access to all five private garden locations and discounts at participating businesses. Tickets can be purchased online via the blue REGISTER button or in-person at the Guild Gallery & Art Center, located at 24353 Redwood Hwy. Kerby, Oregon 97531, 26 miles SW of Grants Pass on the Redwood Highway 199. For more event info call (541)-592-5019.
