Becca Farmer

Since a young age, Becca has experimented with a variety of mediums, emulating the masters, studying design, honing skills, defining her voice. Becca had an opportunity to live in Europe during her formative years, where she was exposed to a rich historical culture of art. Those experiences attract her to dramatic visual possibilities. She combines that with a strong background of studies in bioscience which drives her exploration of beauty into the often unseen mechanics of life.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Painting is the vehicle I use to explore my awe and wonder with the mysteries of life. I find the greatest connection with my own mortality and transcendence when I’m in nature. My passion for painting is to take that connection and create striking encounters of beauty that ignite wonder, imagination and creativity. I love to use the drama and versatility of acrylic paint along with the lower toxicity impact to the environment. The style I’ve chosen to pursue can be defined as imaginative realism. Being a true science nerd, I explore natural beauty and paint on the edge of what's visible, adding my own intuitive imagination.
