Annie Buma has always been interested in trees and wood. She grew up in her Father’s cabinet shop learning dowel construction. She spent many years at work in the National Forests of the Pacific Nothwest. She currently enjoys working in her studio located in Seiad Valley, CA using hand-milled woods such as Cedar, Douglas Fir, Pine, and Oak. Her pieces typically show off the natural shapes, textures, and colors of the wood, leaving live or cambium edges and natural color transitions. A variety of pieces including kitchen utensials, cutting boards, frames, framed mirrors, and jewelry boxes can be seen year-round at the Guild Gallery & Art Center in Kerby, OR.
