Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain-Weekly Zoom Workshop

Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain-Weekly Zoom Workshop

DRAWING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN

A WEEKLY ZOOM GROUP WORKSHOP SERIES STARTS SEPT. 21ST

Going on now.

An Exploratory On-line Multi-age (middle school and up) workshop to explore what happens when you engage the “other” part of your brain.

Join the Southern Oregon Guild in a fun and engaging on-line group experience. Using the book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, the facilitators and participants will learn and become inspired together.

What Will We Do?

  • We’ll explore learning in a new way — by going through an unusual process together and sharing our experiences

  • We’ll discover, what happens when what we’re doing, and how we are doing it engages our “right” brain

  • We’ll experience a different kind of learning “success” and challenge personal “I can’t” myths.

  • We’ll begin to appreciate why early childhood “scribbling” is so important to later language development and why the dominance of “left” brain activity in our culture creates roadblocks to both learning and creativity...

  • All the while engaging in an approach to drawing that has the potential to bring forth both new skill and a new understanding and enjoyment of the creative process

  • In other words, we will improve our drawing skills and much, much more

Why?

To explore together a unique approach to learning to draw or to enhancing your current ability. And, to open new ways of seeing and of understanding that can magnify your confidence to explore different outlets and avenues for your creativity.

When?

During the first meeting we will poll participants to determine the best day and time for weekly meetings. The first meeting will be Monday, September 21 at 7:00 PM and the series will be finished before Thanksgiving. Don’t worry if you miss a class, a Zoom recording will be available so you will not miss out on all the fun.

How?

This will be a workshop conducted through Zoom. You will need to have a computer or other internet-ready device. Enjoyment and interaction are best when participants’ devices have a camera. When you join the workshop, you will receive email confirmation of your registration and a meeting link to click and voila! -- you will be able to join in this online adventure.

What will you need?

A copy of the 4th edition of the book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards,(available in local bookstores or online)    plus paper, pencil, and a few other common items as we work through the book.
