This is a tremendous honor, usually requiring an audition, according to choir director, Kate Campbell.
In order to support this momentous opportunity for one of our region’s own, the Guild is hosting the Songbirds, a trio from the 3 Rivers Chorale, performing a fundraising concert at the Guild Gallery and Art Center from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on St Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17.
Celtic songs and music from the Wailin’ Jennys are on the eclectic program that will be performed by trio members Jeni Foster, Kate Campbell, and Alissa Barry. The Songbirds have been heard as part of a 3 Rivers Chorale concert at times, but this will be the trio’s first solo performance in the Illinois Valley.
In addition to enjoying this exciting musical performance, those attending will have the opportunity to bid on an array of cakes made especially for this St. Patrick’s Day cakewalk (and then take their cake home for dinner).
