Creative Clothing Mending

Creative Clothing Mending Workshop Series with Tracey Reed
Sundays October 2 & 9 from 12-2pm PDT
Location: @ The Guild Gallery & Art Center or attend online via ZOOM

Have you ever wondered how to save your favorite pair of pants or socks after a tear? This fall, The Southern Oregon Guild invites you to learn more about the art of MENDING as a creative, meditative, and sustainable mindfulness practice. Explore how old clothes can become more beautiful and kept out of the landfill.

Join local creative Tracey Reed on Sundays October 2 & 9 from 12-2pm for a HYBRID workshop on the art of “Creative Clothing Mending”! Tracey will walk us through several styles of sewing and projects that include successfully mending a pair of jeans and darning a hole in a sock with sashiko style patching. You’ll receive 2 sessions of hands-on instruction and gain the skills to continue mending on your own throughout the coming winter season! This series is open to all skill levels with no previous sewing experience required. Basics of sewing will be covered, such as how to tie a knot in thread, thread a needle, prevent tangles, and create patches. Attend live in-person at the Guild Gallery & Art Center in Kerby or online from the comfort of your home via ZOOM.

You get to work with your own clothing or fabrics while receiving loads of personal attention and instruction. Please click the link below to see our suggested materials list.
