The Southern Oregon Guild of Artists & Artisans invites you to come learn the natural dyeing technique of “Eco-Printing” with leaves and flowers on paper and fabric with local multi-media artist Angela Franklin. Eco-printing refers to the act of directly applying plants to textiles or paper to alter color, apply color, and create unique designs.
In this 2 day workshop, Angela will focus on three methods of eco-printing and is excited to share this magical dyeing technique. Introductory elements of natural dyeing will be covered, such as: mordants, binders, plant selection, and fiber selection. Participants will leave with their own one-of-a-kind eco-prints that can be incorporated into various fiber arts or stand on their own!
Class will take place outside, socially distanced at the Guild Gallery & Art Center at 24353 Redwood Highway Kerby, OR 97531.
Class Fees are on a sliding scale: $30-$40. Student Fee is $25. All materials will be provided and included in the class fee.
Angela Franklin is a folk artist, seasoned natural dyer, and loves everything botanical. She is also a death midwife, herbalist, and community deathcare advocate living in the Illinois Valley of Southern Oregon. Angela and her husband Michael offer non-medical end of life services through Crossroads Community DeathCare.
