In an era dominated by cheap, disposable clothing and escalating environmental waste, a collective of visionary local artists is striking back with creativity. The Southern Oregon Guild presents Artists Rethink Fashion, a 3-part fundraiser series to take place on Saturdays September 26, October 3, and November 7 from 1-4pm each day. Discover how Guild Members are rescuing textiles, challenging fast fashion, rejecting throwaway culture, and transforming clothing into timeless wearable masterpieces!

Set amidst the background of local creations inside the Guild Gallery & Art Center, three different designers will host educational and interactive runway shows emphasizing sustainability as the ultimate canvas, each sharing a different approach and unique ways to create your own style and a quality, flexible wardrobe that lasts. Ticket holders will enjoy a selection of refreshments and opportunities to get close to each piece, ask questions, and learn about its evolution and construction. Each artist will have a large variety of work on display, many available for purchase, during and after each presentation.

Sept 26: The Creative Closet - Bonnie Campanoli’s curated outfits prove environmental responsibility and high style aren’t mutually exclusive, they are the future of expression. Learn to adopt sustainable practices like shopping our closets, creating a capsule wardrobe, mending, and caring for your clothes. Bonnie Campanoli is an art collector, global traveller, and fabric & culinary arts afficianado now based in Cave Junction. She serves on the Guild's Board of Directors.

October 3: Vintage Redux - Jean Robertson’s personal vintage collection is given another whirl, artfully styled into today’s modern garments. Watch as everything from Victorian pieces to art deco treasures come to life alongside handmade, restored, or repurposed additions. Jean Robertson is an O'Brien-based artist whose work spans jewelry, sculpture, and textiles. After a 25-year career in grand opera set, theater, and costume design, she brings a richness and functionality to every piece she creates. Working from her off-grid studio, Jean transforms vintage components and found materials into distinctive wearable and sculptural art. Inspired by color, texture, and form, she reimagines forgotten objects with playful sophistication. Her work celebrates creative reuse, thoughtful design, and the beauty that emerges when unexpected materials come together.

November 7: Mind to Matter - Award winning art-to-wear designer and Rogue Community College sewing & textile teacher Caryne Mount inspires experimentation with her couture garments. With vintage and contemporary fabrics, international textiles, and hand-dyed silk, she shows how to create unique wearable pieces that are vehicles for light, texture, and play. Caryne Mount began sewing as soon as she could hold a needle! After graduating from the University of Kansas with a BA in Art History and Minor in Textile Design, she further refined her techniques through coursework at Canada College, Redwood City, California. In 2000, she was awarded an individual artist grant to pursue an exploration in textile surface design, culminating in a gallery show "The Four Elements: My Journey into Surface Design." A variety of Caryne's work is currently available for purchase at Gallery One in Grants Pass and at the Guild in Kerby.

Adult event tickets are $20 per show or $50 for the full series. Youths 12 and under are free.
