Guild Artists Tackle the Times with a New Exhibit, “Chaos & Order” Opening July 17, 2022 from 4-6pm
Southern Oregon Guild artists explore the demands and inspirations for creative expression embedded in the times we’re living through in a new exhibit, Chaos & Order, opening with a celebratory gathering Sunday, July 17, 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Guild Gallery and Art Center in Kerby. The celebration will offer guests the opportunity to interact with the artwork, the artists, and one another to express their own thoughts and feelings about our times – as well as the Guild’s hors d’oeuvres buffet, a wine tasting, and music by Terry D. Davis.
The new exhibit is unique to the Guild’s history of presenting beautiful and functional works of art in a variety of media. One central piece in this new show is a large wire sculpture, The Tree of Hope, co-created by our Board of Directors. It presents the question, "what is our future?" The tree needs leaves, added by guests, expressing hopes and ideas for guidance into a healthy future. Guests and members will explore those questions together in the interactive program. Another piece, Angels Too Soon by Donna Parrish, is a beautiful and poignant memorial to the multitude of angels we have lost before their gifts could become part our world and national fabric. In addition to other new work by familiar Guild artists, Chaos & Order includes the creations of five new Guild members – Alyssa Babin, Dara Daniel, Caitlin B. Rice, David Mills, Jo-el Palacios, and Donner Worley.
