I recently moved to Southern Oregon from Ohio in February 2024. Many of my artist affiliations were in Ohio. I obtained a degree in Art Education from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. I taught in the public and private school systems in Ohio. I also taught art classes at the Mansfield Art Center, where I was a member for 50 years. Over the years I took numerous art workshops to hone my artistic skills.
In addition to teaching, I loved to paint. I was a member of the Ohio Watercolor Society and the Ohio Plein Air Society. I served as a Board member of the Ohio Plein Air Society and the Competition Chairperson in 2022 and 2023. I made many connections and friends with plein air painting.
I painted professionally exhibiting in galleries, co-op galleries, juried competitions, and juried outdoor art shows. My painting style is impressionist with a liberal use of color. I work in watercolors and oils. My subject matter consists of landscapes, seascapes, florals, and still-lifes. I am inspired by nature, the play of light, and atmosphere. I want to get out in this wonderful Oregon landscape more and plein air paint, it is a truly beautiful state.
