Kristen O'Neill is a landscape painter and art teacher in Southern Oregon. Her artwork aims to inspire you to look longer, and really appreciate a place by showing you its personality. Kristen's paintings capture the emotional release, the beauty of the place, and allow you to reconnect to nature and experience your special place on a daily basis. She uses a painterly approach to capture the essence of a landscape and portray it in a way that demands attention yet is still inviting. Landscapes come alive!

While she prefers to visit the places she paints, sometimes this is not possible with commissions of distant places. On location she takes hundreds of photos and sketches. When time (and children) allow, Kristen paints plein-air (on location). In the studio, she then uses these sources to create her paintings. Recent series explore land use issues and wildfires, and the common ground that we all share.

Kristen received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and currently lives and works in Grants Pass, Oregon. Kristen currently has work on display in at Gallery One in Grants Pass, the Manley Art Center in Brookings, and at The Southern Oregon Guild Gallery in Kerby.
