Terry D. Davis, sculpture

Terry was first introduced to the world of art through learning to create and cast garden sculptures with his family, taking their creations to flea markets, Saturday markets, garden shops, art fairs, galleries, and eventually the California Renaissance Fair where he refined his sculptural arts business surrounded by some of the finest artists and crafts people on the west coast.
Further inspiration found in fine art galleries led Terry to take a figurative sculpture class at Marin College. During an opportunity to study with master Eugene Dobbs, the sculpture teacher at San Francisco Academy of Fine Arts, he learned portrait sculpting and bas-relief composition. Upon moving to Southern Oregon, Terry continued to sculpt, cast and sell garden and wall sculpture at the Lithia Artisans Market in Ashland, OR while continuously refining his skills until one day he decided to dismantle his casting process and just do one-of-a-kind pieces fired in a kiln.
Terry took his love of sculpture and finally began sharing it with adults locally at the Media Center in Cave Junction just a few years ago. Since then, he has taught at Illinois Valley High School, The Dome School, and the newly formed Kalmiopsis Community Arts High School, where he also serves on their Board of Directors. Terry is also a Board Member at the Southern Oregon Guild, where he shares his musical talents and commitment to creating ever evolving works of art.
